HIRING PROCESS
To initiate the process, we ask every applicant to send in their resume, cover letter and three professional/clinical references here. This allows us to learn a little about you. There will be some people that this simply isn't the place for, they may be wonderful clinicians but not a match for REX. If you are selected, we will reach out with the next steps. If not, you will be notified.
We value the collective, inclusive, compassionate, and connected culture that we've nurtured in our team thus far. As part of this, every member of the team from clinician to admin and even our interns, are invited to participate in the hiring process of our peers. If you are selected, we will invite you to 1-2 group interviews with as many of our staff as possible. While we would prefer those interviews (or at least one of them) be in person, we understand that may not be an option or difficult to attain, so we're open to virtual as well. We encourage that you be prepared with your own questions for us, because we will certainly have many questions for you! MSW-I will participate in a group interview, however it may be a smaller group of people participating. If you are selected, we will reach out with the next steps. If not, you will be notified.
If you've made it this far, because we are so protective of our clients and our clinical environment, we do have applicants submit samples of their work. To do this, we ask applicants to do a mock treatment plan and a mock progress note (templates available below - you may use your own if you'd like) based on either one of the vignettes provided below OR to create a 10-15 min mock therapy session video with a friend/colleague (not an intake, it must be a snapshot of the session). We are looking at your clinical presence, empathy, verbal and non-verbal communication, and how you interact with the the mock client. Limited experience is not a disqualifier at all, we work with folx on building their skill set. This gives us insight into where that is. We are therapists too, we understand that for many of us, documentation is not our strength. We also realize that therapists aren't film producers so a simple zoom meeting that you record would suffice. If you are selected, we will reach out with the next steps. If not, you will be notified.
If you've made it this far, we are likely talking onboarding process. If you are joining the practice with no client base of your own (absolutely not a requirement that you bring your own clients), you will automatically be started at either 1099 or part-time W2 status. While we do have some options for hourly rates, most of our staff works on a percentage split for fees for service income. We do additionally have some options for a blended model as well. Part-time clinicians are expected to build to a minimum case load of 6-10 client sessions per week. Full-time employees are expected to carry a minimum of 20 sessions per week (but no more than 35 - there is no pressure to maintain that level.. it's a lot!). W2 employees are expected to participate in special projects with the practice, whereas 1099 employees may do so at their discretion. LMSW's are required to attend consultation whereas LCSW's may do so at their discretion (but are strongly encouraged to attend). Current pay structures:
1099(Contract employee)
