Hello, my name is Holly Taylor, LMSW and I am a clinical social work candidate that is working under the supervision of Elizabeth Newsom, LCSW-S. I live in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas and I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a masters in social work. I am grateful to have joined the Realistic Expectations, PLLC practice and I align with the beliefs of the organization where our hope is to provide a safe space for healing to happen in populations that are often overlooked, misunderstood and misrepresented.
My experience is with the older and elderly populations. More specifically, I have worked with caregivers and their loved ones with dementia for over 10 years. As we age, we deal with grief, loss, and life events that may change the trajectory of goals and lifelong plans. Aging and life events can cause depression, anxiety, fear, and sometimes conflict within ourselves and others. It is important to process these changes in a healthy and productive way. I enjoy helping clients do the work to assist them in developing the tools and strategies to come to an outcome that they are pleased with.
Are you in mid-life or retired and looking at what’s next? Have you experienced grief, loss or life changes? Are you queer, poly, kink or LGBTQ+? Are you dealing with anxiety, changes in overall happiness or contentment? Let’s work together to help you live your best life as you age and grow. I primarily use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help people experiencing difficulty find tools they can use immediately to manage symptoms and cope with challenges. SFBT empowers you as the client to use strengths and coping mechanisms you develop during therapy. We will also incorporate cognitive behavioral, person-centered, dialectical behavioral, Gestalt, and Gottman therapies, respectively.
Thank you,
Holly
